Assassin's Creed 4
Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag begins in 1715, when pirates established a lawless republic in the Caribbean and ruled the land and seas. These outlaws paralyzed navies, halted international trade, and plundered vast fortunes. They threatened the power structures that ruled Europe, inspired the imaginations of millions, and left a legacy that still endures.
The main character of the game will be Edward Kenway (Matt Ryan), a British privateer-turned-pirate and eventual member of the Assassin Order; father of Haytham Kenway, and grandfather of Ratonhnhaké:ton, the two playable characters of Assassin's Creed III. Real-life individuals that will be encountered include the pirates Edward "Blackbeard" Thatch (Mark Bonnar), Benjamin Hornigold, Anne Bonny, Calico Jack and Charles Vane (Ralph Ineson).
The fullest Assassin’s Creed world ever created. Stand among legendary
pirates such as Blackbeard, Calico Jack and Benjamin Hornigold, as you
establish a lawless republic in the Bahamas and relive the truly
explosive events that defined the Golden Age of Pirates. From Kingston
to Nassau, explore 50 unique locations where you can live the life of a
pirate. Captain and customize your own ship, search for lost treasure,
hunt rare animals and loot underwater shipwrecks.Into this world sails a young, cocky, and fearsome captain named Edward Kenway. His skill with a sword and disdain for authority earn him the respect of pirate legends like Blackbeard, but thrust him into an ancient conflict that threatens to destroy everything the pirates have built.
Game description
In the game there are three main cities; Havana, Kingston, and Nassau, Bahamas, which reside under Spanish, British and pirate influence, respectively. The are also 50 other unique locations to explore, with a 60/40 balance between land and naval exploration. Assassin's Creed IV have a more open world feel, with missions similar to those found in Assassin's Creed, as well as fewer restrictions for the player. The world opens up sooner in the game, as opposed to Assassin's Creed III, which had very scripted missions and did not give players freedom to explore until the game was well into its first act. The player will encounter jungles, forts, ruins and small villages and the world is being built to allow players much more freedom, such as allowing players to engage, board, and capture passing ships and swimming to nearby beaches in a seamless fashion. In addition, the hunting system has been retained from Assassin's Creed III, allowing the player to hunt on land, and harpoon in the water.A new aspect in the game is the ship the player will captain, Jackdaw. The Jackdaw will be upgradeable throughout the game, as well as having easy access to the ship when needed. The player also have access to a spyglass, allowing the examination of distant ships, along with their cargo and strength. It can also help determine if an island still has animals to hunt, treasures to find or high points to reach for synchronization. While Kenway's crew will remain loyal to him, and can be promoted to captain acquired ships, they cannot assist you in combat or perform long-range assassinations, as in previous games. Ubisoft removed this aspect of the brotherhood system, believing it allowed players to bypass tense and challenging scenarios too easily.
Story
It is 1715. Pirates rule the Caribbean and have established a lawless pirate republic. Among these outlaws is a fearsome young captain named Edward Kenway. His exploits earn the respect of pirate legends like Blackbeard, but draw him into an ancient war that may destroy everything the pirates have built.Set sail on the high seas in Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, a pirate-filled adventure in the Assassin's Creed saga. Become Edward Kenway, a charismatic yet brutal pirate captain, trained by Assassins. Command your ship, the Jackdaw, and strike fear in all who see her. Plunder and pillage to upgrade the Jackdaw with ammunition and equipment needed to fight off enemy ships as you venture out to discover the most diverse Assassin's Creed world ever created.
As is the case in previous games in the Assassin's Creed series, the story is divided into two intertwined halves, with one in the present day, one in a historical setting, and the events of each influencing the other. Although the present-day story had previously established that an Animus was required to view one's ancestors memories, the ending of Assassin's Creed III implies that Desmond's genetic memories have now been uploaded on to 'the cloud'. As such, the player's character is hired by Abstergo Entertainment to investigate a pivotal movement in Desmond's ancestry; the Assassin Edward Kenway. A notorious pirate and privateer operating during the Golden Age of Piracy, Kenway's story is set in the Caribbean, and mixes open-ended ship-based exploration with combat and land-based adventures on a number of Caribbean islands, as well as parts of southern Florida.
Assassin' s Creed IV: Black Flag sees you step into
the boots of Edward Kenway, a young and brash pirate captain whose
plundering ways pull him into the war between Templars and Assassins, a
war that threatens everything the pirates have built.
In Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, you'll
take part in blistering ocean warfare, hunt for hidden treasures and
assassinate Templars in stunning locations on land and sea. But whatever
your mission, one goal remains the same - become the most feared Pirate
in the Carribean.
Naval combat
Naval Combat is more complex in Assassin's Creed IV, with new weapons,
new enemies, new challenges, and a new progression system, also you can
come to a full stop and drop control of the ship and this will alow you
to free rome on the jackdaw and board ships and take forts and stuff
like that. One of these new elements is the enemies. You must also
manage a crew. Assassin's Creed IV is about 60% land missions and 40%
naval missions. An emphasis is being placed on populating the world with
a litany of optional activities to engage in while you're piloting your
ship to your next destination.
Naval Combat was introduced in Assassin's Creed III. You will need to get ammo for the jackdaw and a good crew.

When you use the Spyglass to spot a ship, you can see its resources/loot and then make the decision to board it. The Jackdaw can attack the enemy ship to weaken it, allowing you to lower its health to the point of boarding, when you see the sails fall down.
After seeing the sails on the ship fall, you can order the crew to throw hooks over and board the ship. You can now swing across using a rope.
The goal is to eliminate the enemy captain. You can freely attack the ship's enemies, climbing the mast for air attacks. You can also use a Swivel Gun.
Once the ship is captured i.e. the captain and a proportion of the crew have been killed, you have 3 options as to what you do with it.
1) Gain Crew Members - This allows you to gain even more crew members than what you get from just capturing the ship
2) Send ship to your fleet
3) Repair The Jackdaw - If your ship took too much damage in the fight, you can use materials from the defeated vessel to repair your own ship.
Another tactic includes using waves as a form of protection. A wall of water acts as a kind of shield from bullets, so an advantageous use of placement on choppy seas will prevent you from being harmed by enemy ballistics.
